Give  me

a  book.

What is the Give Me A Book Foundation?

Our vision is of a nation of literate Filipinos who learn in early childhood to read and comprehend written Filipino.

Our mission is to create culturally relevant books that develop essential reading skills in underserved Filipino children.

Our Impact

Since 2021, we have created five levels of Filipino Leveled Books with a total of 200 titles. We have published, printed, and donated 134,830 books across 122 underserved schools in Luzon and the Visayas. Our culturally relevant books ignite literacy and pave the way for other linguistic and cognitive skills, enabling students to make quick, measurable, and transformative progress.

While the results of investments in education programs often take years or even generations to become apparent, the use of our books in classrooms yield visible and impactful results within just 10 weeks. This means that when students are given time to read daily, coupled with the right amount of teacher guidance in small groups, they can advance to the next level after reading all 40 books in a level.  Data from our partner schools who use our books for at least one year show that the majority of their students gain 3-4 reading levels by the end of the school year. Our books lay the foundation for literacy and open the doors to the world of written words for children.

Teachers in our partner schools commend Filipino Leveled Books for bringing systematic structure to their reading instruction and enabling effective differentiation in their classrooms with diverse needs. They witness firsthand the enthusiasm, love, and curiosity that our books instill in their students during reading sessions.

By providing comprehensive support and resources, Give Me A Book Foundation empowers teachers to deliver impactful reading programs that cater to every student's learning journey. Our commitment to enhancing educational outcomes through culturally relevant materials continues to make a profound difference in communities across the Philippines.
